How versions are managed

  • Each document is versioned independently. A change to one document does not bump the others.
  • The current version of each document is set in lib/legal/versions.ts in the repository — this is the single source of truth that the signup form, the Settings → Privacy panel and any re‑consent prompt read from.
  • When a document is updated, we (a) draft the change, (b) get John's (or external counsel's) sign‑off, (c) bump the version in lib/legal/versions.ts, (d) add a row to this page, (e) where the change is material, give existing users reasonable notice and (where consent is needed) prompt re‑acceptance on next sign‑in.
  • Material vs non‑material is a judgement call we'll record on the change. Typos, formatting and clarifications are non‑material. New categories of data, new sub‑processors, changes to retention, changes to the liability cap or jurisdiction, and changes that affect users' rights are material.
